Why legacy doesn’t matter (and ego does)

some neat little objects. It's mostly the little neat objects that I like. Yeah. All right. I think this is I have a million more questions, but we I mean, look, I've got 15 more minutes if you want to go or or or No, I'll take you up. Let's do it. Let's do it. Let's do it. Do you ever think about your legacy? No, I don't even I hate that idea. Why? There you don't have a legacy. There's no legacy. I I just don't You have a legacy. Of course, you have a legacy. I I don't whatever it is, whatever is left over and people like or don't like or whatever that is what it's going to be. But it's it's just I do things now. I do things for now. I build things for now. There's no thinking about is this going to last? Is this going to be appreciated? What I I don't care about any of that stuff. So I this idea of like thinking about your legacy is just anathema to me. It's just not something

I ever think about or worry about or care about. I just think like I put stuff out in the world that I want now that I think is good. Whatever happens with it is whatever happens with it. But there's no like thinking about how it will be remembered or anything like that. That's what I don't like about legacy. It's a very to me the word legacy is is just synonymous for ego. Like you think people are going to give a about you 50 years after you're dead. Like who cares? Who cares? So anyway, that's my that's my feeling at least. I heard not even 50 years 10 years from now if if we if we hang it up like people move on. There's other things. I'm not that important. Nothing I've done is that important and I I just don't like thinking about things in that way. I think I heard the guy from Mixer G, Andrew Warner, say that you can get

defensive when someone questions your approach. Um, what role does ego play in entrepreneurship? Well, I think you have to think what you're doing now is good and and worthy and worthwhile. Otherwise, there's no reason to do it because you're up against every all the odds. Everything's pushing back at you. Every force is saying you're not going to make it cuz you most likely aren't. So, you have to at least believe that you're good at what you do and that what you're doing is important and worthwhile. Um, and you have to also be able to withstand a certain degree of of of um disbelief and but but but only you only get to the place where people push back at you once you've done something. No one's pushing back at you if you're brand new. No one cares about what you're doing. No one even knows about
